Barry Holland
Retiring in late 2011, Barry had worked for ZB for 43 years. Starting as a technician, he worked in Sydney for a few years, coming back to the station in 1968.
Barry was rushed to hospital at the age of four after contracting polio. His poor health as a child meant that he wasn’t allowed to play sports. In spite of this, or perhaps because of it, Barry has always been an avid sports follower – a passion he has shared with countless listeners throughout his career.
A self-confessed workaholic, Barry has been involved in a wide range of shows on NewstalkZB as well as presenting for a few television shows including Top Town and On The Mat.
Barry has been married to Carolyn since 1968.
