Wanganui born, David is best known for his unorthodox sense of humour. However, in February 2017 his world changed when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. Taking a leave of absence from his job to focus on his treatment, he began a journey that he shared openly with more than 100,000 followers through his blog “A Mild Touch of the Cancer”.
After undergoing 12 rounds of unsuccessful chemotherapy, he was told the cancer was terminal and he would have approximately six to twelve months to live. On the same day, he found out about an experimental treatment, which would ultimately be his lifesaver.
David has recently taken his blog and produced a book of the same title “A Mild Touch of the Cancer”, a hilarious story of one man’s journey of one of the least funny subjects you could think of.
