Real Life with John Cowan

Born in Paeroa, Dick attended Paeroa College before studying at Massey University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Technology (Food).

Dick founded Hubbards Foods, a breakfast cereals manufacturing business, in 1990.

In the 2001 New Year Honours Dick was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business and the community.

He stepped down as CEO of Hubbards Foods in 2004 when he was elected Mayor of Auckland.

Dick is married to Diana and they have two adult children.
