
Geoff Simmons
Leader of The Opportunities Party
Geoff is an economist and the leader of The Opportunities Party. He has worked as an economic analyst for the New Zealand Treasury and the UK. He was the general manager and an economist for the Morgan Foundation founded by Gareth Morgan and together they have co-authored four books on health, cooking, Antarctica, and food.
Geoff grew up in the small town of Okaihau and spent his teenage years in West Auckland before moving to Wellington as an adult. He now lives in Mount Cook with his partner Elza. Geoff is an avid cyclist and can often be found trail running to stay fit and keep his mind clear. In his spare time, he enjoys performing improvised comedy, playing in a drum band and he leads a restoration planting group in Wellington.
