
Ian Grant
Senior New Zealander of the Year 2013, Ian Grant is best known for his decades of work as an advocate for youth and parenting in NZ. For 33 years, Ian led NZ’s Youth for Christ, a national youth organisation involving thousands of young people and volunteer workers in clubs, town hall events, camps and social programmes. Twenty years ago Ian and Mary founded Parenting With Confidence, which is still going strong as The Parenting Place. Ian is also an author, broadcaster and in-demand speaker, both nationally and overseas.
He recently founded Fathers Who Dare Win, to ‘encourage and equip dads to be the awesome dad that every child longs to have’.
In February 2013, the Governor General Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae conferred on Ian the title of 'Senior New Zealander of the Year' for 2013.
