Joe Bennett

Born in Eastbourne, England in 1957, Joe attended Cambridge University and began teaching English in various countries.


At the age of 29, Joe came to New Zealand to teach at Christ’s College in Christchurch for a single year, and forgot to leave.


Settling in Lyttelton, Joe started writing columns for The Press.


He moved into writing full-time in 1998 and has now published over twenty books, with his regular newspaper columns (known for their biting wit) being syndicated around the country.
