Judith Durham
Judith was born in Melbourne in 1943 and displayed a passion for music from a young age. Her voice was described as ‘crystal clear’, with a stunning range and resonance.
She joined the popular Australian folk music group The Seekers in 1963 at the age of 20, shortly before they gained international acclaim. They were the first group ever to reach #1 on the UK Charts with their first three singles. The Seekers sold more than 60 million records worldwide and Judith has shared the stage with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who. She left the group in 1968 to pursue her solo career.
In the decades since, The Seekers have had several reunions to tour and record. In 2012, they released a 50th anniversary CD with 50 tracks to celebrate 50 years. Judith will be touring New Zealand in November with all the original members of The Seekers. Together, they will take their fans down memory lane with stories, memorabilia, messages from music industry contemporaries and video clips on the big screen.
