
Metiria Turei
With a law degree from Auckland, Metiria worked as a corporate lawyer for Simpson Grierson before entering parliament in 2002. She was elected Green Party Co-leader in 2009 and is currently the party spokesperson on Social Equity, Education, Electoral Reform, Māori and Treaty Issues, Housing and Children.
Metiria is married, with a 20-year old daughter and two grown stepchildren.
