Morrie Chandler
Halberg Lifetime Achievement Award Winner
Former President of MotorSport New Zealand and chairman of Rally New Zealand Ltd, Morrie Chandler was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the 55th Halberg Awards ceremony in February.
Morrie's contributions to New Zealand MotorSport were all achieved while also being an active rally competitor. He held several significant and influential roles with the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile, most recently as Vice President of the sport, a role he stepped down from at the end of 2017. Morrie was also awarded Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Motorsport in 1997 and was awarded the title of President d’Honneur by Motorsport New Zealand in 1998.
Morrie lives in Auckland and enjoys golf and boating in his spare time.
