
Wendy Petrie

Journalist and co-host of TVNZ’s One News, Wendy Petrie joined the One News team in 2004 and co-hosted the 6 o’clock bulletin with Simon Dallow in 2006. Her journalistic career has seen her reporting from all over the world as well as presenting a variety of shows including Breakfast and One News Tonight.
Wendy began her career working as a reporter and presenter for TV3’s 6 o’clock news before moving to Canada. She secured a role in Toronto as a presenter for Canada’s CTV News Channel and also worked as a foreign correspondent for New Zealand News during her time overseas.
Significant events that Wendy has reported on include; reporting from New York during the September 11 terrorist attack of 2001, presenting One News during the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004, and presenting One News Tonight as live coverage of the London Bombing of 2005 flooded in.
Wendy is married to director Ross Peebles and they have three children.
