Che Wilson

Māori Party President

After acquiring a Bachelor of Arts in international relations, politics and Māori, Che has shown a flair for environmental management and tribal leadership. He has been a member of the Tongariro-Taupō Conservancy Board, the National Māori Advisory Board for Geological Nuclear Science, a member of the Māori Heritage Council; Deputy Chief Executive for the Ministry for Environment and an Environment Court Commissioner and was involved in policy development, managing a $27m community development fund in the UK.


More recently, Che’s has managed the Ngāti Rangi iwi authority, focussing on the settlement process at the foot of Mount. He set up a consultancy focused on community and cultural development and has advised a number of museums around the world.


Che and his wife Missy have two children, Te Kanawa and Hinerauhamoa, and own an accountancy firm in Ohakune.
