Jay Laga-aia
Laga'aia, who turned 50 this week, is best known internationally for his role in two of the Star Warsfilms, and has had a diverse acting career, ranging from presenting Play School, to starring as ‘Judas’ in the stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar. His television roles have included parts on Water Rats, McLeod's Daughters and Home and Away and he’s well known for his role in the stage production of The Lion King.
Jay has been cast to play the lead role of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in the New Zealand and Australia tour of the Broadway musical Wicked, which begins next week at the Civic Theatre in Auckland.
