Kevin Rudd

Kevin Rudd was the 26th Prime Minister of Australia from 2007 to 2010. He is currently Australia's Minister for Foreign Affairs.


Born in Queensland and raised on a dairy farm, he joined the Labour Party at 15. Becoming dux of his high school in 1974 he went on to work for the Department of Foreign Affairs. Elected as Prime Minister in 2007 his government's first acts included the signing of the Kyoto protocol and delivering an apology to Aboriginal Australians for the stolen generations.


Mr Rudd is well known for his public Christian faith, which has played a major role in his political career. He is married to Thérèse Rein and they have three children.
