Les Mills

Les Mills is a retired New Zealand athlete, who represented New Zealand at the Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games spanning over two decades. He competed in shotput, discus and weightlifting events. At the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games he achieved a gold medal in discus.


After retiring from active competition, Mills began a business career establishing Les Mills gyms.


He went on to become Mayor of Auckland from 1990 to 1998.


He has two children.
