Pippa Wetzell
Born in 1977, Pippa grew up on Auckland’s North Shore and attended Takapuna Grammar School. In 1994, she followed in her older sister’s footsteps being elected to the role of Head Girl. Her younger sister joined the ‘Head Girls’ a couple of years later. Pippa studied at the Auckland University of Technology to receive her Bachelor of Communications degree.
Her first television job was in 1998 when TVNZ hired her for the overnight assignments desk. She has continued to work at TVNZ, starting on Breakfast as a junior assistant before moving on to reporting, and finally, hosting the show alongside Paul Henry from 2007 – 2010.
After spending the last two years working as a stay-at-home mum, Pippa returned to the small screen at the beginning of this year to front Fair Go with Gordon Harcourt.
Pippa lives in Auckland with her lawyer husband, Torrin Crowther, and their three children Brodie, Cameron and Taj. She is also involved with promoting and fundraising for Plunket.
