Joy Reid

Joy joined TVNZ in 2009, after several years of radio reporting for Radio New Zealand and Newstalk ZB in Auckland and Hamilton. Joy is a graduate of the NZ Broadcasting School where she received a Bachelor of Broadcasting majoring in journalism. A self-confessed “news junkie”, she is passionate about telling everyday New Zealanders’ stories and loves the thrill of breaking news. She worked with the Christchurch team and was an integral part of the earthquake coverage in 2010-11. After two years as TVNZ's Europe Correspondent, Joy returned to New Zealand last year.
Joy loves spending time in the Port Hills with her husband, two children and dog Oscar. She’s an avid traveller, having spent a considerable amount of time travelling and working in Europe, South East Asia and Africa.
